Jenkins Hotel Review

A classic Georgian exterior belies the simply designed, homey interior, where bedrooms are decorated in traditional color schemes—creams and blues with walnut furniture and heavy floral curtains—and bathrooms are miniscule.

The Hotel Jenkins is situated next to a charming Georgian Crescent alongside a series of other guesthouses and hotels, with a nearby fish and chip shop and grocery store, where souvenirs can be purchased at a fraction of the price nearer London's main attractions. Our main problem with the Jenkins Hotel was that it was extremely cold, even in autumn. When we were there, the staff promised that the central heating would come on, but the central heating did not come on at all during the entire time that we were there. A number of the rooms are below ground level with single glazing only. The period of architecture lacks the layer of insulation brick typical of most European accomodation. The upshot is that in autumn, the Hotel Jenkins can be much colder that you might first imagine.
