Original Lahore Kebab House

Fodor's Review:

Best budget curries in London is the mantra at the Original Lahore Kebab House in run-down Whitechapel. It may be BYOB and no-frills, but the halal Pakistani home-style cooking is cheap and brilliant—popular with Asians and City boys alike. Mutton tikka, grilled lamb chops, tarka daallentils, masala fish curry, and karahi chicken are all super-spiced and fiery. A £15-a-head meal knocks spots off anything on offer in nearby Brick Lane's so-called "curry mile."

  • Keep in mind: BYOB.
  • Credit Cards: MC, V
  • Tube: Aldgate
