A real London classic, Jaeger has been making conservative but stylish clothing for men and women since the mid-19th century. It's particularly good for coats, suits, and separates. Founded around a Victorian "scientific" theory about the healthy properties of animal fibers (wool, camel's hair, silk, vicuña), the label has long since embraced a more modern approach. But its woolens and silks remain very collectible. There are several London branches. The King's Road store carries both the men's and women's lines.
