It's non-stop Cockney banter and all-day English breakfasts at this tiny 1900 Italian family-run listed landmark café near the great Brick Lane and Columbia Road street markets in Bethnal Green. With stained glass, Art Deco marquetry, and signed photos of East Enders TV soap stars, it's the hole-in-the-wall for the greasy fry-ups that Londoners love: eggs, bacon, toast, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding and "bubble 'n' squeak" (cabbage and mash potatoes). Your arteries most certainly will clog up, but at least the wallet will breathe easily. Everything's less than £9, but remember this is the East End and hence it's cash-only, mate!
