Fodor's Review:

The canteen cousin of St. John in Clerkenwell is a winner no matter what meal of the day: have porridge and prunes for breakfast, seed cake and Madeira for "elevenses," heart and picked walnuts for lunch, and veal chops for dinner. Yummy bread is baked on-site, and the wine is mainly French. This eatery is a good spot to refuel after a visit to Brick Lane or Old Spitalfields markets.
