Yauatcha

Yauatcha Review

Hurrah! for the all-day dim sum at this Cantonese Soho classic. Slinkily designed by the chic Christian Liaigre—with black granite floors, purple-lit aquarium, candles, exposed brick light wall, and a starry ceiling—the theatrical setting is the perfect stage for the wicked dim sum—try king crab, cuttlefish and zuccini, or prawn and Chinese chives—plus the crispy duck rolls, hot and sour soup, congee rice porridge, venison puffs, and seabass and lotus root. You'll also find fancy cocktails, plus exquisite Oriental loose-leaf teas and delicate cakes and fancies in the first-floor tearoom. Don't forget the ridiculous but firmly enforced 2-hour table turn, and be sure to request a table in the more happening and romantic basement at night.
