The whole of beau London comes for the always-on-show spectacle and soaring elegance at this double-height Viennese-style Mitteleuropa grand café on Piccadilly. Framed with black laquerware, silver service, and a few doors down from the Ritz, this all-day brasserie begins its long decadent days with breakfast at 7 am and serves until midnight. Don't be shy to pop in on spec (they hold seats back precisely for this) to enjoy such highlights as Hungarian goulash, Matjes herrings with pumpernickel, chicken soup, chopped liver, kedgeree, steak tartare, or the breaded Wiener Schnitzel.
