Racine

Racine Review

There's always an upscale buzz at this star of the Brompton Road dining scene, not far from the V&A, Harrods, and the packed-to-the-rafters upmarket Holy Trinity Brompton Church. This smooth-running chic-and-cheerful classic French brasserie excels in doing the simple things well—and not costing the earth. Chef Henry Harris's signatures like roast partridge, foie gras with Calvados, soft roe on toast, rack of lamb, or the adventurous tete de veau—poached calf's head—all hit the high notes. Many of the happy-looking patrons are stealth-wealth local regulars, but even they are tempted by the £15.50-£17.75 prix-fixe lunch or dinners (6-8 pm).

The food was stunning. The service was perfect. Nothing snooty, which was what I had expected. Absolutely one of the best dining experiences we have had yet.
We can not wait to go back!
