Fodor's Review

This renovated 1829 former gin palace and tram stop—all soaring high ceilings, gilded mirrors, etched glass, carved wood bars, taxidermy, and Victoriana prints and photos—makes for a magnificent gastropub setting on a gentrifying stretch of the Uxbridge Road in Shepherd's Bush. With main courses under £18, top dishes range from Loch Duart salmon with squid ink linguine to monkfish cheeks with bacon and curried mussels. The wine list is a fab 350-strong list (with

36 by the glass) overseen by co-owner Matt Wilkin, with a focus on boutique growers from the Rhône in France.
