Fodor's Review:
Royally proportioned public rooms distinguish this multimillion-dollar, American-run hotel. Everything exudes richness -- moiré silk, magnificent antiques and oil paintings, handwoven carpet -- it's all so flowery and elaborate, it's like the lovechild of Liberace and Laura Ashley. To check in, sign the visitors' book, then retire to your room, where you are waited on by a personal butler. Guests at the Lanesborough have their own private butlers. Should you take the £5,000-per-night Royal Suite, the hotel will provide a chauffeur-driven Bentley and personal security guards. If you yearn for a bygone age and are willing to spend, this hotel is for you.
