Fodor's Review

Warm neon lights and floor-to-ceiling windows invite you into this contemporary Chinese restaurant from the hip streets of the Northern Quarter. Deliciously simple family recipes have earned it a growing reputation; locals flock here to enjoy the famous salt-and-pepper ribs, firecracker prawns, Lily, and "volcano beef"—a Hunan-inspired dish served flavored with chili. One of the house specialties, General Tse's sweet-and-sour chicken, is named after an uncle of the three

sisters who own the restaurant (the nickname stems from his military precision over how the sauce was prepared.)
