Fodor's Review

From 1955 to 1964, Paul McCartney lived with his family in this modest 1950s council house (a building cheaply rented from the local government). A number of the Beatles' songs, including "Love Me Do" and "When I'm Sixty-Four," were written here. The house is viewable only on a tour, which also visits John Lennon's childhood home, Mendips. It leaves from the Jury's Inn next to Albert Dock (mornings) or Speke Hall (afternoons). Book in advance—places are strictly limited

to 15.
