Old Hall Review

In a refurbished 16th-century building rumored to have once accommodated Mary Queen of Scots, this hotel overlooks the ornate Buxton Opera House. The individually decorated rooms are furnished in a mixture of period and modern styles. One room in the oldest section, Mary's Bower, retains its original ceiling moldings. The Cockerel Bar is popular with theatergoers, who stoke up on its hearty dishes; there's a more formal restaurant as well.
