The Crown Review

This 17th-century building has a relaxed ambience in its maritime-themed Back Bar or a buzzier but still cozy atmosphere in the eclectic brasserie and wine bar at the front. The seafood dishes, such as the Lowestoft plaice with purple sprouting broccoli, are excellent. Tasty meat dishes include braised shin of Suffolk beef. The few bedrooms upstairs are quite small, but a 2012 refurbishment gave them a contemporary look.
