Plenty of Cambridge residents are happy to drive 20 minutes out of the city to this stylish little pub in the sleepy village of Bourn. The seasonal menu serves classic British and European dishes with a creative flourish. Typical dishes include partridge served with pears, chestnuts, and potato pie, or venison with an apricot, squash, and chickpea cous cous. If you're in the mood for something simpler, steaks, burgers, and pizzas are also available. For dessert try the chocolate torte with affogato sauce, or the cheesecake made with Bailey's Irish cream liquer and Maltesers (a British candy made from malted honeycombs and coated in chocolate). Bourn is 10 miles east of Cambridge; take the B1046 for the prettiest drive.
