Don't be put off by the 10-minute uphill walk from the center of Bath—you'll be rewarded by a wonderful view of the city from the lovely garden and upper stories of this Georgian guesthouse. The mixture of traditional furnishings and modern touches makes for a smooth and attractive decor. There are open fires in winter and a lush garden for spring and summer. Rooms 3, 4, and 5 have the best views, while 9, 11, and 12 open straight onto the garden. If the full English
breakfast is too daunting, indulge in coffee and croissants in bed.

From our upper floor window, the city looked like a fairyland below. So beautiful. Only one problem, when we arrived by car in Bath, no one, not the police, not the maps we had, could tell us how to get to the hotel by car. We had to pick up a college student who "walks past there every day" to find the place. Get really good directions beforehand.

The place is just about perfect. We had a beautiful room, immaculately clean with a wonderful view. The young New Zealand couple who run the place couldn't have been nicer. Loved it.
