Cranleigh Review

In a quiet location on the hill above the city center, this Victorian guesthouse has wonderful views of the Avon Valley and richly decorated rooms; three rooms have four-poster beds. Large breakfasts—pancakes with maple syrup, smoked haddock, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, fresh fruit salad, and vegetarian options—are served in the dining room, which overlooks the garden. There's a hot tub, costing £12.50 per person for two hours. The Cranleigh is a 30-minute walk from the center, but you can take one of the frequent buses that stop nearby.
