True Georgian grandeur is evident in the refurbished rooms of this Palladian-style mansion-turned-elegant small hotel. Guest rooms are individually decorated in English-, French-, or Italian-inspired style, and some have elaborate plasterwork and large windows facing the street. The basement Cavendish Restaurant (£££) relies on locally sourced and organic ingredients, and has tables in the courtyard for fine weather; light bar lunches are also served.
