Fodor's Review:
This rambling coaching inn is a few steps down from the Cross -- the historic heart of the old city where Northgate, Westgate, Southgate, and Eastgate streets meet. The galleried courtyard, overgrown with creepers, adds to the impression of age. There's an extensive carvery menu (a buffet of roasted meats, carved to order) and plenty of vegetarian choices.
