The 18th-century Pump Room, next to the Roman Baths, serves morning coffee, lunches of steak sandwiches or chicken and lamb dishes, and afternoon tea, often to music by a string trio. Do sample the English cheese board and homemade Bath biscuits. The Terrace Restaurant has views over the Baths and is also open occasionally for dinner (there are fixed-price menus, and reservations are essential). Be prepared to wait in line for a table during the day.
