Fodor's Expert Review Bakkegård Gæstgiveri
Busenevej 64, Borre, Zealand, 4791, Denmark
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Between the views of the Baltic Sea and the Klinteskov Forest, this small hotel farm dating from 1910 offers the best of the island. From here it's a relaxing 20-minute stroll through the beech forest to the cliffs of Møn. Some of the 16 rooms overlook the sea. Every room is decorated by an artist from Møn, and works are available for sale. Children will enjoy the gardens with beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
PROS
- lots of comfortable common areas
- nice views
- accessible by bus
CONS
- rooms have sinks, but toilets and baths are shared
- more accessible if you have your own transport
- sells out in peak season
