Le Saint Jacques

Fodor's Review:

The tiny dining room here barely accommodates a dozen tables, but whenever the sun shines, diners spill out from its icon-filled spaces to occupy tables facing busy Østerbrogade. The chef and owners come from some of the finest restaurants in town, but claim they started this place to slow down the pace and enjoy the company of their customers. The fare changes according to what is available at the market, but expect fabulous culinary combinations—smoked salmon with crushed eggplant, Canadian scallops with leeks and salmon roe in a beurre blanc sauce, sole with basil sauce and reduced balsamic glaze, and a savory poussin (young, small chicken) with sweetbreads scooped into phyllo pastry atop a bed of polenta and lentils.
