A five-minute stroll from Nyhavn, overlooking old Copenhagen and Amalienborg, the monolithic Admiral was once a grain warehouse dating from 1787, but now provides travelers with no-nonsense accommodations. It's one of the less-expensive top hotels, cutting frills and prices. Massive stone walls are broken by rows of tiny windows; guest rooms are spare, with jutting beams and modern prints.
