Frilandsmuseet

Fodor's Review:

North of Copenhagen is Lyngby, its main draw the Frilandsmuseet, an open-air museum. About 50 farmhouses and cottages representing various periods of Danish history have been painstakingly dismantled, moved here, reconstructed, and filled with period furniture and tools. Trees and gardens surround the museum; bring lunch and plan to spend the day. To get here, take the S-train to the Sorgenfri station, then walk right and follow the signs.

  • Cost: DKr 50, free Wed.
  • Open: Easter-Sept., Tues.-Sun. 10-5
