Fodor's Review:

You know you're in for a real Danish meal when you can smell the vinegary rd kål (red cabbage, a Danish staple) upon entering. Dimly lighted and warm, with a dark-wood and burgundy color scheme, this local favorite just oozes with hygge (coziness). Old photographs of Danish royalty line the walls, and a 1798 street lamp stands alongside the inviting bar. Choose from a wide range of smrrebrd selections and also a formidable lineup of down-home Danish dishes such as frikkedeller (pork meatballs) and butter-fried salmon with boiled potatoes. In summer the kitchen offers a traditional Danish Christmas meal "so that everyone can experience Denmark's Christmas traditions." The meal includes roast pork with red cabbage and the much-loved ris à l'amande (rice pudding) for dessert. Hidden inside is an almond, and whoever finds it receives a small present. These summer Christmas meals have become so popular that they are generally offered only to tour groups, but it's worth asking when you reserve.
