This bright, casual eatery just off the Strget is always crammed with happy diners. Pasta Basta has all the ingredients for its well-deserved success: an all-you-can-eat fresh pasta and salad bar for a refreshingly low price (DKr 79). The cheerful staff navigates a dining area marked by orange walls, an innovative mural, and glass-top tables painted in green and blue swirls. Main courses on the changing menu may include pasta with prawns, spinach, and chili peppers, or smoked salmon served with pasta in a creamy sauce of scallops, spinach, and herbs. Pasta Basta is one of the city's only restaurants (barring fast-food and shawarma joints) that serves food until 3 AM (and until 5 AM on Friday and Saturday). During these early-morning hours the restaurant is popular with dancers and musicians from the Royal Theater and other venues, who come in to relax and dine after their evening performances.
