As a break from sightseeing, the location can't be beat: Barock's sidewalk tables overlook the Old-New Synagogue. Most of the buzz here is for the appearance: walls bathed in matte scarlet, deep-dish orange chairs, and recessed mood lighting make a chic statement suited to the stylish address on boutique-heavy Parízská. Barock's clientele is more fanny pack than jet set these days, but both camps seem to like the open-passport approach in the kitchen: crunchy Vietnamese spring rolls, spicy Thai soups and curries, fresh Mediterranean seafood, continental salads, and hearty Czech classics like roast duck all meet on the same menu.
