Art glass mixes with artful cooking in this surreal salon from designer and architect Borek Sípek. The glasses, plates, and fixtures are all designed in the artist's whimsical style: bright colors, glossy surfaces, exaggerated angles, and vinelike elongations. The menu is equally quirky: lamb combines with garlic-pepper marinade and rosemary mascarpone, a thick beef steak comes with truffled sabayon sauce, and the sea bass is served with foie gras risotto. Desserts are the ultimate in self-indulgence, such as the baked pear flavored with star anise and dipped in a thick syrup made of sweet Tokay wine. Sípek Bistrot is intimate and truly one-of-a-kind.
