The first convent in Bohemia was founded here in 973 next to the even older St. George's Basilica. The National Gallery collections of Czech mannerist and baroque art are housed here. Highlights include the voluptuous work of Rudolf II's court painters, the giant baroque religious statuary, and some fine paintings by Karel Skréta and Petr Brandl. Although inside Prague Castle, this museum has a separate admission.
