This early-baroque armory-turned-hotel is tucked away on an abundantly picturesque street at the southern end of Malá Strana, just off Kampa Island. Rooms offer the standard comforts you'd expect from a European Best Western, and the building features a few nice period details. (Note the late-Gothic vaulting in the massive dining room.) At one time the bucolic setting and proximity to the city center made this lodging option a comparative bargain; now hotels within blocks offer superior service at more competitive prices. It's a good fallback option if you absolutely must stay on Kampa.
