Opened in 1932, the Alcron was one of Prague's first luxury hotels; a major renovation of the building in 1998 modernized the look but restored the art deco building, the crystal chandeliers, and the milk glass. A dramatic white marble staircase is bound to impress. Rooms are elegant and updated with all the amenities you'd expect in a business-centered hotel. However, the excellent location a block off Wenceslas Square makes it just as attractive to leisure travelers. Both restaurants are excellent, and are consistently rated highly by critics. You get much more comfort for your money here than at a typical chain hotel.
