This affordable hotel, housed in a former brewery, is located in a quiet spot just a few minutes from Old Town Square. The rooms are large and well appointed, with spacious beds, desks, and chairs, though the decor—sea-foam green duvets on blue carpets—doesn't work from a design standpoint. Rooms toward the front of the hotel offer views of beautiful Haštalské náměstí and its adorable church. All the rooms have air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi. The hotel's Kambala
restaurant, featuring seafood, is very good, and there is also a handful of excellent restaurants nearby.

Hotel Hastal is convenient to Old Town activities and venues, but because it is hidden away, it is very quiet. Five stories, but the elevator only goes to four. The stairs to the fifth are steep, so don't take a room there unless you can manhandle your luggage. Breakfast is very good, hot and cold choices, served in the hotel's restaurant. Desk service was very efficient, although English is relatively basic. But our Czech is non-existent, so we
were satisfied. Seems oriented toward adult/mature travelers. Again, that was a benefit for us. I would return to the Hastal if I am ever fortunate enough to return to Prague. It isn't far from a Metro stop, so getting luggage to the hotel is not a problem when walking.
