Prazský Hrad (Prague Castle)

Timing

The Castle is at its best in early morning and late evening, when it holds an air of mystery. (It's incomparably beautiful when it snows.) The cathedral deserves an hour—but budget more time, as the number of visitors allowed in is limited, and the lines can be long. Another hour should be spent in the Královský palác, and you can easily spend an entire day taking in the museums, the views of the city, and the hidden nooks of the Castle. Remember that some sights, such as the Lobkovický palác and the National Gallery branch at Kláster svatého Jirí, are not open on Monday.
