Arcotel Teatrino

$$, Zizkov

User Rating: **** 3.6

Fodor's Review:

The keys to this building have passed through many hands -- in 1910 it was the city hall of Zizkov, then a theater, and during Communism a bar (rumor has it, the upstairs rooms were used as a rendezvous point for couples). Today this hotel, which was rebuilt in 2000, has emerged as a beacon of classiness in a neighborhood that is not so classy, but it's still just two tram stops from the city center. The original art nouveau design was kept and paired with modern accoutrements.

Located in Zizkov, you'll need to take the tram to get downtown. With that said, the breakfast spread is among the best in Prague, and the room in which it is served is beautiful. My single room was very small, but adequate. My friend also stayed in the hotel last week and liked it. Local pubs are nearby, as is the Flora Mall. If you are on a budget, or want to stay in Zizkov, this is a good choice. I also think the security in this hotel is better than many others in the area.
