Fodor's Review

It may be in a drab box of a building, but this museum is guaranteed to appeal to children and civil engineers alike; try to see it in the afternoon on a weekday or in the late morning on the weekend, when a series of guided visits are offered. The highlight here is the demonstration of some of Nikola Tesla's inventions, which takes place weekdays at 3:30 and weekends at 11:30, but there's also the tour of a lifelike reconstruction of a coal mine at 3 on weekdays and 11 on weekends, and a planetarium visit at 4 on weekdays, noon on weekends. That's not to mention all the various engines on display, as well as a fascinating historical exhibit of firefighting equipment including trucks, ladders, and hoses aplenty.
