Farmers from the surrounding countryside set up their stalls here daily, though the market is at its busiest on Friday and Saturday mornings. On the upper level, brightly colored umbrellas shade fresh fruit and vegetables on an open-air piazza, and dairy products and meats are sold in an indoor market below.
