Whether Varaždin's best pizza is here or at the more laid-back and affordable Domenico is debatable, but here you can have your pie by candlelight, with soothing background music under brick-arched ceilings to boot. Across the street from a peaceful shaded park, a five-minute walk from the center of town, the Angelus has a huge menu that also includes plenty of pastas and other, meatier (and more pricey) fare, not to mention a half dozen creative salads and lots of beer
(including Guinness and Kilkeny). Be sure to save room for dessert. Don't be fooled by the plural in peaches capelleti: it's actually a single peach—bathed in cherry sauce, sweet curd, and ice cream—sliced in half.
