Diving

Whether for exploring shipwrecks or reefs or underwater cliffs, Kornati National Park is among Croatia's most popular diving destinations. That said, you can't dive alone here, only through a qualified diving center. The permit for diving in the park is 150 Kn, which includes the park entrance fee. Aquanaut Diving Center offers a small menu of choice courses and excursions (to more than 100 sites), including a daylong boat trip that includes two dives and a stopover in the Kornati Islands. Luke, near intersection of Kornatski, across from supermarket, Murter. 022/434-988. www.divingmurter.com.

Najada Diving offers supervised shore dives as well as half-day group excursions that include two dives. Among the highlights on its menu of excursions to more than 30 sites is a visit to the wreck of the World War II cargo ship Francesca.
