Boat and Ferry Travel

During high season (July through August), Jadrolinija ferries travel between Dubrovnik and Rijeka (journey time approximately 23 hours), stopping at Split, Stari Grad (island of Hvar), Korčula, and Sobra (island of Mljet) en route; a one-way ticket with car is about 1,200 Kn. The ship departs from Rijeka in the evening to arrive in Dubrovnik early the following evening, and then leaves Dubrovnik in the early-morning to arrive in Rijeka early the next morning. During the rest of the year, the service is less frequent or sometimes suspended completely.

Every day in high season, ferries for Mali Lošinj leave Rijeka in the afternoon, calling at Ilovik, Sušak, Unije, Cres en route; the entire trip from Rijeka to Mali Lošinj takes around four hours. Also in the afternoon, a catamaran service bound for the northern Dalmatian island of Pag, leaves Rijeka, stopping at Rab Town (journey time 1 hr 40 min) en route. One-way tickets for both options are 60 Kn.
