Karmen Apartments Review

An excellent budget choice in the Old Town, these homey, light, and airy apartments look directly onto the fishing boats in the old harbor. Each unit has two or three beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Expect high ceilings, wooden floors, colorful painted-wood furniture, and handmade bedspreads. It's run by the Van Bloemen family, who arrived here from London in 1972 and founded the Hard Jazz Cafe Troubadour. Former guests include Goran Visnjic, the Croatian-born actor who played ER's Dr. Luka Kovac. You'll find the entrance in a narrow side street between the Rector's Palace and the aquarium.
