Design Museum Gent
Design Museum Gent Review
Peek into Gent's past in this decorative arts and design museum in an 18th-century burgher's house. Furnished interiors show styles from the Renaissance to the 19th century, including an extensive collection of crafts and designs. In the first-floor wooden room, even the chandelier is made of intricately carved wood. One wing is dedicated to such 20th-century themes as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and contemporary designs. In the inner courtyard stands a huge flower vase, said to be the largest in the world at 30 feet tall. There are some brochures available in English.
