Gravensteen Review

Steps from its namesake, this handsome 19th-century mansion exudes atmosphere—at least, from most angles. The public areas are ornate with carved stucco, a marble staircase, and a cupola. Hallways wind to small rooms with a more modern look; some have castle or canal views. Note that some rooms are in a newer, less attractive building at the back and that bathrooms are small, some with showers only.
