De Foyer
De Foyer Review
The balcony terrace of this theater brasserie is a great place to retreat after visiting Sint-Baafskathedraal—you can watch the passersby on the square and listen to the cathedral's carillon. Inside, you can either sit at a small table or at the large, communal table at the bar, giving you the opportunity to chat with other visitors. The menu plays to the tried-and-true with light snacks, seafood, and steak frites, but also has more intricate dishes such as guinea fowl with Kriekbeer (cherry beer). All wines can be ordered by the glass. The large Sunday brunches, served between 9 and 11 am, are well worth checking out. This is the rare place that's open on public holidays, plus there's free Wi-Fi access in the restaurant.
