Boating
Boating is popular along the river and canals; you can take a boat tour or rent your own vessel. You can rent a motorboat or "mini-yacht" from the Minerva Boat Company (03/233-7917. www.minervaboten.be) and sail around Gent or to Deurle and Sint-Martens-Latem. Boats take four to five people and no special license is required. The embarkation and landing stage is at Coupure, on the corner of Lindenlei.
