Banks and Exchange Services

Currency exchange offices are clustered around the Grand'Place, while the major banks, Fortis and ING, have branches around the city. Branch hours are usually weekdays 9 am–1 pm and 2–4:30 pm. There are 24-hour ATMs, called Bancontact or Mister Cash and marked with blue-and-yellow signs, all around Brussels, though not as many as in most European cities. This is why long lines often sprout from downtown ATMs on weekend nights. Frustratingly, ATMs are often out of order and can be totally out of cash by Sunday evening.
