Fodor's Review

Students, seniors, and everyone in-between flock to this century-old huge tavern with an Art Nouveau terrace and legendarily grumpy waiters. The menu devotes itself to straightforward Belgian cuisine throughout the day and into the night, but after 11 pm Cuban music and cocktails take over. (The kitchen is open until 5 am on weekends.) The same group owns the Montecristo Café next door: it's another loud, popular, late-night spot with Latin flavor.

Not that bad at all......

My wife and I headed for this place and found it initially a bit grubby and not overwelcoming but the food was very good and the waitress eventually warmed up and we enjoyed ourselves. The manager looked very glum though a little tourist weary possibly. However, it was major value for money and I would definately recommend it for a hearty but inexpensive lunch. Beer was v good too.

Years ago Fallstaf food was exellent and waiters friendly, but now waiters don,t even look at you while ordering , food cold, Why does the management keep their eyes shut fot this kind of complains! I predickt that fallstaf will be closed if they keep on doing this.

It's a brasserie...

So go for the beer, not the food. Atmosphere is fine, but it is more of a tourist attraction.

Funky art nouveau cafe

Didn't eat, but found this a fun and funky place to have a couple of drinks. Cramped, but great atmosphere.
