Aux Armes de Bruxelles
Aux Armes de Bruxelles Review
Another reliable choice among the many tourist traps of the Ilôt Sacré, this kid-friendly restaurant attracts a largely local clientele with its slightly tarnished middle-class elegance and Belgian classics: turbot waterzooi, a variety of steaks, and mussels prepared every conceivable way. The place is cheerful and light, and service is friendly if frequently overstretched. A lunch menu is available for €27.

I ate dinner here a few years ago. I was told that it was the favorite of the locals. I found the servers to be very rude and the food was mediocre at best. I felt as though they were rushing me so that they could get more customers. I would not eat here again.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to this restuarant as a teenager, some 30 years ago, and at every opportunity whenever in Brussels I have always returned. It is by far one of th emost enjoyable places to eat - yes, the restuarant is busy, but that is typically Belgian, and it is what makes the country so enjoyable. The seafood is as good as you will find anywhere, the decor is original 30s, and I and the people who have been there with me over the years have always really enjoyed it. If you like Belgium, you will love this restuarant.
