Place des Martyrs

  • Address: rue du Persil, Lower Town, Brussels

Fodor's Review:

This square holds a monument to the 445 patriots who died in the brief but successful 1830 war of independence against the Dutch. The square itself is a neoclassical architectural ensemble built in 1795 in the cool style favored by the Austrian Habsburgs.

  • Metro: Metro: De Brouckere
