Chef Chantal Mortier built up a substantial local following over the years; she now serves her fans at her intimate Flemish restaurant off the Markt, with her husband at the front of the house. In winter a fire warms up the dining room and the menu offers comforting favorites like steak (fillet, tournedos, or rib eye) with frieten. In summer the street-front tables become a prime spot for people-watching. The menu lightens up accordingly, with salads such as goat cheese and honey or shrimp and smoked salmon. Though reservations aren't mandatory, they're highly recommended.
