For traditional Belgian food at honest prices, this is the place. From noon until 10 pm, Flemish stew, tomato with shrimp, mussels, or fillet of sole are served as they are in many Flemish homes. The 18th-century house is decorated in Art Deco style, and the sunny terrace has a lovely view of the Reien.

    Disappointing romantic evening...

    I just came back from De Torre after reading about it in my Fodor's book. The flemish stew was not worth it and the meat was very dry. I ordered the fixed price menu at 22.5 Euros and my wife ordered the mussels (that were okay). After eating, we waited 15-20 minutes for the waiter to clear the table, he spent the next 25 minutes cleaning up other tables and other misc chores and not coming back to our table to offer us coffee or even the dessert that came with my fixed prix menu. I had to shout across the outdoor patio to get his attention. At which point he just brought the bill. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I can and who cares about the dessert.
    Fodor's - can you please let me know how a place like this could be recommended by your team?
